This puzzle uses the similar basic concept as the design "Sultans Examination". So both are a tanglement puzzle using a wire construction and a piece of rope that has to be maneuvered into a special position within the wire. For this puzzle "Keyhole to Hell" I improved the previous one by the following two differences:

• Instead of using balls at both ends of the rope I now use a ball on one end and a thin round slice on the other end. According to that and the shape of the two openings of the wire construction the ball only can pass through the round hole (but not through the rectangular hole) and the slice can only pass through the rectangular hole (but not through the round one). With this restriction the orientation of the rope and its two different ends becomes important.
• The second feature is the new style the wire has been bent. Apart from this new structure being difficult to visualize it is even more difficult to 'plan' some steps with the rope in advance. For sure this makes finding a solution for that puzzle deviously difficult.

The name for that puzzle was given due to obvious reasons: The shape of the wire is similar to an old-fashioned keyhole whereas the difficulty of the puzzle adds the expression "to Hell".
Of course there is an 'obvious' position the rope has to be put into the wire construction: the rope goes behind the middle crossing with each end of the rope sticking out of a hole - the end with the slice goes through the round hole and the end with the ball goes through the rectangular hole. But how can it be achieved? That is the puzzle!

In addition to the puzzle itself it is supplied with a small stand where the wire construction and the rope can be put up on a hook for display.
